SEASIDE, Ore. -- A man has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison after beating two people to death with a baseball bat in Seaside last May.

Marcus Foster was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Monday.  He pleaded guilty in March to two counts of aggravated murder for the 2012 deaths of 53-year-old Laura Foster and 53-year-old Guy C. Phillips.  While the victims' families spoke in court, neither Foster nor his attorneys said a word.

"He has shown little or no remorse until now, and he showed no remorse at the sentencing," said Deputy District Attorney Ron Brown. "He didn't say one word."

Brown added that he's relieved the case has been brought to an end.

"He seems to be proud of himself that he ended their lives the way that he did," said Brown. "He's a very dangerous man."
