PORTLAND -- A man was arrested on suspicion of grabbing a Portland Police Bureau officer's gun during a struggle on Friday.
Officers stopped Thomas Roser, 41, at around 12:30 p.m. for riding his bicycle the wrong direction on NW Glisan Street, near NW 4th Ave. He claimed that he had a gun and made motions consistent with drawing a gun, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson.
As officers attempted to detain Roser, he began struggling with them, even grabbing an officer's holstered gun. Officers found a fixed-blade knife in his pocket while arresting him, Simpson said.
Roser was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on several charges, including escape and menacing. He was also being held on a parole violation for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
