WEST LINN, Ore. – A house that was built with all American materials in West Linn has pre-sold for $2.1 million.
It’s called the Made in America house. The property is 6100 square feet with five bedrooms, six bathrooms and even an upstairs Irish Pub. From the roof to the foundation, it was 100 percent American made.
Built by Westlake Development Group, the house is the first American-made showcase house to be constructed on a Street of Dreams.
The West Linn Street of Dreams will open in July in time to celebrate Made in America month.
“If we would just reallocate 5 percent more made in America products in every new home, we would add more than $14 billion into the economy,” said Gerald Rowlett of Westlake Development Group.
Made in America month celebrates buying and building with American materials.
To be considered a Made in America house, 97 percent of building materials must be made in the U.S.
“It creates social, economic and environmental impacts that are so positive that you can’t say no,” said Rowlett.
