SAN FRANCISCO -- A 19-year-old Lewis and Clark College student was shot and killed in San Francisco while visiting his family during spring break, authorities said.
Jacob Valdivieso was walking home with a friend from a party Saturday morning when a suspect got out of a car and approached him, police said.
The suspect then reportedly asked Valdiveso if he was in a gang before shooting him multiple times, at least one time in the head.
Valdivieso was taken to the hospital where he died around 3 a.m.
The Mission Local, a Bay Area community paper, spoke with Valdivieso's father who said his son was a good student who was never involved in gangs.
The suspect fled the scene in a two-door sedan. He was described as a 30-year-old Hispanic man.
Friends and family created a small memorial of pictures and flowers outside Valdivieso's home in San Francisco.
