LEBANON, Ore. – Police on Monday identified a teen accused of stabbing two officers who were trying to capture him Sunday afternoon in Lebanon.

He was identified as 17-year-old Neil Warren Carillo of Lebanon. Carillo was still being treated at a hospital for a single gunshot wound to the torso. The injury is not life threatening.

Police spotted the juvenile in the 1000-block of Grove Street and tried to take him into custody, but that’s when they said he pulled out a knife and assaulted them.

“One officer was stabbed in the arm and the other officer was stabbed in the chest, but protected by his ballistic vest. However, the second officer injured his shoulder in the struggle,” said Lebanon Police Chief Thor Dahl.

One of the officers fired at the 17-year-old and wounded him in the abdomen. The suspect was taken to a hospital in Corvallis for treatment. No further details were released on his condition.

The two injured officers were transported to the hospital in Lebanon where they were treated and released, Dahl said.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office will conduct the investigation into the police shooting. Meantime, both Lebanon police officers were placed on administrative leave, which is routine police policy in this type of incident.
