LEBANON, Ore. – The band director at Beaverton High School was arrested Wednesday for alleged sex abuse of a student years earlier.
Joshua Edward Head had an ongoing sexual relationship with a Lebanon High School student from 2006 to 2007, while he was a band teacher there, police said.
Head now faces four counts of sex abuse 3.
In August of 2007, Head was hired to be the band director at Beaverton High School and also served as a part-time band teacher at Whitford Middle School. But all of the alleged abuse took place while he was the band teacher at Lebanon High School.
Head has since been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the sex abuse investigation, according to Beaverton School District officials.
Police said they do not suspect that there are additional victims.
Anyone with information that may help investigators was urged to call detective Shelly McInnes, with the Lebanon Police Department, at 541-258-4329.
