VANCOUVER -- People visiting Lacamas Lake can return to the water, after blue-green algae was determined not to pose a health risk, Clark County officials said Friday.
Swimming, wading and other activities that involve water contact were not recommended over the past week, according to Dr. Alan Melnick of Clark County Public Health. But the advisory was lifted Friday afternoon.
“We are pleased to announce that the lake is again safe for swimming and other recreational uses,” Melnick said. “Conditions could change, however, so we urge people to be observant and avoid any pockets of the lake that might have a scummy texture and a green, bluish, brownish, or reddish-green color.”
