PORTLAND -- Another candidate has filed to run for Multnomah County Chair, following the resignation of Jeff Cogen.
Deborah Kafoury made her run for the position official Tuesday morning. She's been serving on the county commission since 2008.
Cogen's former Chief of Staff Marissa Madrigal was sworn in as the temporary new chair until the May election.
Cogen resigned amid public scrutiny over his affair with a fellow county employee, and the subsequent criminal investigation that followed.
He is now working for a signature-gathering company and recently posted on Facebook that he is enjoying his new job after the "self-inflicted disaster" he created over the summer.
