ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Police have identified the man who was run over by a car and killed along Interstate 5 in Roseburg Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses said a pedestrian, later identified as Everest McDonald, 34, of Day Creek, ran from the shoulder of the freeway into the traffic lanes and collided into a pickup trucks side door around 4:30 p.m.
The man fell to the ground and was run over by another vehicle coming southbound, according to Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured, Hastings said.
