PORTLAND -- A man was stabbed and killed in a usually quiet SW Portland neighborhood Wednesday night. Portland Police got the call on a stabbing in the 5900 block of Southwest Shattuck Road shortly after 7pm.
A Thursday morning autopsy determined that Josef Lee Skupa, 33, died of a single stab wound to the abdomen.
Portland Police spokesman Pete Simpson says witnesses reported two men fighting in the street near the intersection of Southwest Shattuck Road and 59th Court.
One reportedly stabbed the other. Skupa ran to a nearby home where he died.
The second man involved in the fight, a 19-year-old, stayed at the scene. He was interviewed and released. Detectives also interviewed a woman who was with the victim during the fight and would like to hear from any other witnesses.
No arrests have been made in the case.
Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Mark Slater at (503) 823-9319 or Detective Erik Kammerer at (503) 823-0762.
