PORTLAND – HazMat crews found a “mild irritant” on a package after four people reported feeling nauseous Friday afternoon at the FedEx near the Portland airport.

Around 12:40 p.m., crews headed to 16427 NE Ariport Way after people reported feeling sick when they opened a box that was recently dropped off at the building, according to Ron Rouse with Portland Fire & Rescue.

After a series of tests, HazMat crews determined the irritant was a solvent that somehow spilled on the package.

No one was taken to the hospital.
