GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) -- Two 18-year-old men are charged with harassment and disorderly conduct after Gresham police say they made threats on MySpace about shooting up their old school.

Martin Varsamas of Gresham and Keith Nelson of Troutdale pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Tuesday and are each being held on $500,000 bail.

Varsamas and Nelson attended Sam Barlow High School in Gresham. Sgt. Rick Wilson said the men both told authorities they were not serious about carrying out the plot.

According to Wilson, Varsamas told officers he considered it a litmus test to see if "MySpace Police" existed. Moreover, he was curious about how much trouble he could get into for posting the threat.

Martin, making a Terrorist threat is a federal crime and carries a minimum sentence of 5 years and has no maximum. And there should be an additional 10 years for BEING A COMPLETE IDIOT!

One more case proving some people should not be allowed to reproduce. This is becoming more and more typical, kids with no parenting and nothing better to do than experiment online. What happened to pick up games in the backyard or in the park. Get outside and do something constructive.............during your rec time in prison that is!
