KALAMA, Wash. -- A grassfire slowed traffic to a crawl on Interstate 5 near Kalama Saturday afternoon.
Cowlitz County fire units responded just before noon to the report of a fire on the side of the freeway, near Todd Road.
Firefighters blocked the right northbound lane and Wash. Dept. of Transportation officials flagged traffic as the fire was extinguished.
Crews left the scene just after 1:30.
