BEAVERTON -- A free clinic will be offered Saturday in Beaverton for parents who want to ensure their child safety seats are properly installed and being used correctly.
The clinic will be held at Kuni Collision Center, located at 3725 SW Cedar Hills Boulevard, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Participants were asked to bring along their car seat instructions and vehicle owner's manuals. A certified technician will help parents and caregivers install the restraints and use them properly.
"A properly installed and used child safety seat will greatly decrease the chance of your child sustaining a serious or life threating injury during a motor vehicle crash," said Mike Rowe of the Beaverton Police Department.
No appointment is required and each car seat check should take about 30 minutes, Rowe said.
