PORTLAND -- Four cars were burned Tuesday night in Southeast Portland parking lot, police said.

Crews responded just before 9:30 p.m. to the report of a car fire at Sharp Automotive, located at 8804 SE Stark Street, according to Portland Police Lt. Robert King. Witnesses initially said a person had broken into a car and started the fire.

Firefighters at the scene found a total of four vehicles on fire. The fires were quickly extinguished and investigators arrested 31-year-old Dustin Eugene Hall in connection with the incident.

He was jailed on charges of arson, assault and criminal mischief.

Damage was estimated at $20,000.
