OREGON CITY - The former Assistant City Recorder for the City of Milwaukie was arrested Wednesday for theft charges.

Milwaukie police arrested 40-year-old Juli Howard for theft, official misconduct, and computer crimes. Investigators were tipped after an audit showed suspicious cash transactions while she was employed by the city last August.

Police searched her home and office for evidence in the case.

Howard has since resigned. She was jailed in Clackamas County on $150,000 bail.

Police do not think any other suspects were involved.
