ST. HELENS, Ore. -- A former Columbia County Sheriff's deputy was arrested on rape and sex abuse charges.
Oregon State Police said 47-year-old John Hinkle resigned before he was arrested last Friday.
Investigators said they had numerous concerns with his performance and honesty.
