CLATSKANIE, Ore. - A former Clatskanie police officer was sentenced to 180 days in jail after stealing drugs in a home burglary.
Attorney General John Kroger announced Wednesday that 35-year-old Joseph Lee Harrison pleaded guilty to burglary and official misconduct.
Oregon State Police said Columbia County deputies arrested Harrison last summer for burglary, theft and official misconduct for the burglary of three homes in late July, taking Oxycontin and Vicodin.
“Law enforcement officers have enormous responsibility and power and must be held accountable when they break the law,” said Attorney General Kroger.
He was also sentenced to 3 years probation.
