Fake cop, not kidnap suspect, appears in Aurora

AURORA -- Police in Aurora, warning that their suspect is not the same as a sex offender still at large, are searching for a man who posed as an officer and pulled over a car.

The imposter was driving a dark, late model, Dodge Charger. He asked a man to show his license, registration and proof of insurance but returned the documents and left when the victim asked for police identification.

The suspect pulled the man over about 11 p.m. Saturday night at 99E and Main Street. he was described as about 5 foot 11 and 200 pounds, wearing a dark-colored, uniform-style shirt with no insignia.
