PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Salem couple accused of filming sex acts with their two grade school-age daughters were confronted by a friend on Facebook who threatened to turn them in if they didn't do so themselves.

The couple was arrested Tuesday by Salem police. A federal indictment accuses them of producing child pornography.

The Associated Press is withholding their names to protect identities of the young victims.

Federal investigators had distributed photos of a woman shown in the Internet images.

Someone recognized the woman and sent a Facebook message to the couple saying they should turn themselves in. Other Facebook users recognized her and contacted police.

The couple appeared in federal court on Wednesday and are being held without bail. Their children are in protective custody with the Oregon Department of Human Services.
