PORTLAND -- Police will be providing extra patrol around Portland shopping malls and business districts with a high concentration of retail establishments, and around area movie theaters, after a gunman killed two people and himself at Clackamas Town Center mall Tuesday afternoon.

The extra patrols will continue throughout the remainder of the holiday season.

Police say there is no information to suggest a similar incident will occur in Portland.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the individuals and families impacted by this senseless act of violence," said Chief Mike Reese.

The Portland Police Bureau would like to remind people: "If you see something, say something."

Portland's non-emergency number is (503) 823-3333. For emergencies, call 911.
