BEAVERTON, Ore. – A former Beaverton police officer was sentenced to 30 months in prison for coercing sex from a prostitute while on duty.
Joshua Jensen admitted that he contacted a woman who advertised escort services online.
“When the suspect and victim met, he had her perform a sex act under the threat of arrest for prostitution,” said detective Pam Yazzolino with the Beaverton Police Department.
Jensen pleaded guilty on Monday to prostitution, official misconduct and coercion.
Yazzolino added that investigators discovered there had been two separate incidents involving Jensen while he was on duty.
Jensen was placed on administrative leave in May after a Washington County investigation. He resigned later that month.
Jensen, 25, had been with the Beaverton Police Department since 2008, and was assigned to the patrol division.
"The Beaverton Police Department is deeply saddened by the actions of one of our former officers. This has been a tremendous shock to all of us, as well as a disappointment,” Police Chief Geoff Spalding said.
