KELSO, Wash. -- Dynamite was found inside a Kelso church and a bomb squad managed to get it out just in time for the annual Christmas party.

Pastor Hanna Peterson was cleaning the church when she found a stick of dynamite on a bookcase, according to a report in The Daily News. The pastor speculated that the dynamite may have been among old items donated for a garage sale or cleaned out of home by church members.

When Peterson realized exactly what it was, she called 9-1-1 immediately and the church was evacuated, right in the middle of preparations for a 50-child Christmas party, according to the Daily News report.

The dynamite was removed by a bomb squad and the party did not have to be canceled -- although the start time did apparently have to be delayed two minutes.
