PORTLAND -- Muscular dystrophy affects millions of people around the country every year. Friday you can help fight the disease just by buying a cup of coffee.
Dutch Bros. is donating the day’s proceeds—from all 198 coffee shops in seven states—to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Dutch Bros. spokesman Brant Boersma says he’s always surprised by the outpouring of support. Last year the company raised more than $174,000.
“What blows my mind even more is the customers, the people that come through the window,” he says. “Some people who don't even like coffee come through to support the cause.”
