CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A live duck that was spray-painted "Beaver" colors before the 2009 Civil War game was released back into the wild Wednesday.
The duck had been receiving treatment at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Corvallis since December.
The duck was found spray-painted orange from head-to-toe, so soaked with paint that its feathers couldn't repel water. Caregivers say the duck likely ingested some of the toxic paint but healed well, dropping his orange feathers in the spring.
He was released into a Corvallis pond.
