DEPOE BAY -- A Depoe Bay woman survived an accidental gunshot wound to the head Monday, according to the Lincoln County sheriff's office.
Officers were dispatched to the 100-block of Sunnyview Lane after Kenneth L. Ames, 45, called 9-1-1 and said he shot his wife in the head by accident, said Sgt. Mark Meister.
Lovena Terry, 47, was conscious and was able to talk to police. She also said the shooting was accidental.
She was taken to the hospital with a wound from a .22 caliber round, then flown to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.
Meister said investigators determined that Ames was drunk. He was not arrested.
The results of the investigation will be turned over to the Lincoln County district attorney's office.
