PORTLAND – A woman was arrested after one person died and another was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Southeast Portland early Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Stark Street, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.
Investigators arrested 20-year-old LaShai Antoinette Williams for DUII, reckless driving and manslaughter. They determined she ran a red light on Southeast Stark Street and plowed into another car that had a green light.
In the other car was a 28-year-old driver and a 28-year-old female passenger who died at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital where he was treated for traumatic but not life-threatening injuries.
The intersection of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Stark Street was closed for several hours.
