PORTLAND - A woman escaped a fiery crash on Highway 26 Wednesday.
Beaverton police said the car was travelling westbound on Highway 26 to southbound Hwy 217 near a MAX tunnel when the driver struck the median.
The car caught fire and 28-year-old Evette Washington was able to get out in time. She was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Traffic on Hwy 26 westbound around the MAX and Sunset transit centers was diverted.
Later, police cited Washington for DUII, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
