SALEM, Ore. -- An 18-year-old Silverton man was arrested for drunk driving after state troopers said they found him passed out in a police car he had just stolen near Mt. Angel Saturday night.

Oregon State Police Trooper Jason Perrizo was told by a Mt. Angel police officer about a recklessly driven white Ford Mustang on Highway 214 around 11 p.m. Saturday.

The trooper soon spotted the parked car on Bonney Road.

A man passed out in the Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Team car was identified as Nikita Efimov, who police said stole the car from the off-duty officer's Silverton home.

He was charged with DUII, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and reckless driving and endangering.
