VANCOUVER -- Crews were called Sunday to a fire at a Vancouver home that had been converted into a Head Start facility, a fire official told KGW.

The Vancouver Fire Dept. responded to a fire just before 2:30 p.m. at 3509 NE Stapleton Road. Flames were shooting out of the roof when crews arrived.

The home had been converted into a facility called Educational Opportunities, which serves as a base of operations for Head Start field crews. The business was not operating Sunday and no one was inside.

VFD reported the damage was extensive, but no estimate was available. The cause of the fire had not been determined.
