ASTORIA, Ore. -- A Coast Guard crew from Astoria, Ore., has rescued four crewmembers forced to abandon their 52-foot fishing vessel about 17 miles off the Pacific Northwest coast.

KVAL-TV reports that the crew of the Quest called for help late Thursday night, saying the boat was taking on water. The Coast Guard told them to put on survival suits and abandon ship.

A helicopter crew from Astoria and a motor lifeboat from Grays Harbor, Wash., were dispatched.

The helicopter found three people in a life raft and one in the water. All four were hoisted aboard. No one was injured.

The Coast Guard says the Quest sank with an estimated 250 gallons of diesel fuel on board. There were no signs of pollution.
