VANCOUVER -- Crews have made contact with an injured man who was missing on Mount St. Helens, dispatchers told KGW.
The man was part of a research group on Mt. St. Helens who injured his knee Thursday night. Rescuers flew a private helicopter into Johnson Ridge and made contact with him, authorities said.
The hiker is an older man reported to have some scrapes from a fall on his knee and face.
The North County Volunteer Rescue Team was trying to find the man but had conflicting information about his location. He will most likely be transport him to Yacolt, Wash. for medical attention.
