PORTLAND – See a pothole? There’s an app for that!

The City of Portland has created its first iPhone application with the hopes of curbing the city’s pothole problem.

Here’s how it works: When someone spots a pothole, all they need to do is simply take a photo on their iPhone and then mark its location on a map, add comments and click “send.”

The app can also be used to report other items that need maintenance around the city.

The iPhone reports will be forwarded to the appropriate city bureau and the sender will even get updates on their phone.

Mayor Sam Adams said he hopes the app will improve communication between Portlanders and city residents.
