PORTLAND – Portland’s Christmas tree rolled up Friday at Pioneer Courthouse Square as a crowd of on-lookers gathered to celebrate the arrival of the holiday season.
Santa was riding shotgun as the 75-foot Douglass fir tree was brought in to the square just after noon.
A crane was set up and ready to erect the massive tree, which should take a few weeks to get fully in place.
When it’s all done, the tree will have 14,000 multi-colored LED lights.
KGW will broadcast the annual tree-lighting ceremony hosted by Russ Lewis and Brenda Braxton, starting at 6 p.m. Friday Nov. 29.
