A Gresham woman authorities called a cat hoarder was found guilty on 45 counts of animal neglect.
The Oregon Humane Society cited Terrianne Hess in September, 2010 after finding seven dead cats and 38 live cats in the duplex on 1700 block of NE Hogan Drive.
Investigators said the apartment was filled with waste and feces and declared it unfit for human habitation. OHS said the cats were anemic and suffered from malnutrition.
Hess allowed OHS to provide medical care until all the cats could be adopted into new homes.
Sentencing was scheduled for March 10. Hess faces possible jail time and fines. She may also be ordered to pay restitution to OHS and was not allowed to own domestic animals for five years.
Animal neglect in the first degree is punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $6,250. A second-degree offense could net up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500, OHS said.
