WEST LINN, Ore. (AP) -- Police in the Portland suburb of West Linn say a burglar robbed an 88-year-old woman while she slept, making off with jewelry, a computer and a car and even prowling through her bedroom.

Sgt. Dave Kempas says the intruder broke a side window in a basement door late Wednesday night or early Thursday, taking $10,000 in jewelry, a Rolex watch valued at $4,500, a purse with credit cards, a laptop computer and a VW Beetle.

The spokesman says Brenda Pfahl woke up about 2:30 a.m. Thursday because she was cold, put on a nightshirt and returned to bed.

The burglary was not discovered until she awoke later in the morning. Police said Thursday they had no suspects.
