CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- While the Rodgers brothers steal the show at Oregon State, quarterback Sean Canfield is having a stellar senior season.
Canfield leads the Pac-10 in passing with an average of 256.6 yards per game. He has 17 touchdown passes, equal to Washington's Jake Locker.
He's second in the Pac-10 in passing efficiency and is fourth in the nation in completion percentage (69.8).
"I believe he is the all-conference quarterback this year. If you just take a look at his numbers and the leadership he has had with the team," coach Mike Riley said.
When quarterback Lyle Moevao was very slow to recover from rotator cuff surgery in the offseason, Canfield took over as starter.
Last weekend against Washington, Canfield completed 21 of 29 passes for 185 yards and four touchdowns. He connected with seven different receivers.
Canfield played down his performance, in part because Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
"I felt like my role was kind of limited last weekend but the offensive line opened up holes for Quizz to run," he said. "That balance is what we look for and what we want. It's great as a quarterback and makes a quarterback's life less stressful when there's a running game."
Canfield is fourth in school history with 34 TD passes. He's fifth in passing yards with 5,265.
"He's done amazing. I've known him forever, we used to be roommates; we're great friends," said offensive guard Gregg Peat. "It's awesome to see how he's grown, the quarterback he's turned out to be, and really just the man and leader he has turned out to be."

MORE HONORS FOR QUIZZ: Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers has been named one of the players to watch for the Walter Camp Award for the nation's top player. He is already a semifinalist for the Maxwell and the Doak Walker national awards.
Quizz, as he is known, was last season's Pac-10 Player of the Year. He was the first freshman to win the award.
Now a sophomore, he is already Oregon State's fifth-best rusher, with 2,401 yards in just 21 games. He has been named a Pac-10 player of the week four times.
This season Quizz is averaging 114.8 yards rushing a game, ranking him third in the Pac-10. He has run for 17 touchdowns.
He's also caught 62 passes for 397 yards and a score, and he's thrown a touchdown pass out of the wildcat formation.
   ------
EXTRA POINTS: Oregon State has won five of its last six games. ... The Beavers are bowl eligible for the fourth straight season, a school record. Coach Mike Riley is 5-0 in bowl games. ... Oregon State leads the league in rushing defense, allowing just 102.4 yards a game.
