WOOD VILLAGE, Ore. -- The health advisory for Blue Lake has been lifted after water monitoring confirmed the blue-green algae bloom found in the lake has disappeared and toxins were not detected.
The health advisory was issued Aug. 7 after algae scum was found on Blue Lake, near Wood Village. Health officials advised that people and animals should avoid contact with lake water.
Officials warned people to always be alert for signs of algae blooms and to avoid contact with water that is foamy, scummy and thick like paint.
