PORTLAND -- A man ran off with two cases of money from an armored car about 6:30 a.m. Friday in Northeast Portland.
Officers were dispatched to the OnPoint Credit Union at 1720 Northeast 9th Avenue on a report of a robbery, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The victim was an armored car employee. She said she was walking from the vehicle to the ATM when a man suddenly appeared, grabbed the cases and ran north on 9th Avenue.
The cases were hard, black plastic, 18 by 8 inches, about the size of a large shoebox.
The suspect was a man in his early to mid-20s, about six feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark jacket with a sports team logo. The hood was up. He was wearing white gloves.
No weapons were seen in the robbery. The armored car worker was not hurt.
