PORTLAND -- Multnomah County and Oregon health officials have issued a toxic algae alert for Blue Lake.
Visitors to Blue Lake Park should avoid all contact with the water, officials said. The alert also applies to pets.
Fish caught in the lake should should have all skin, organs and fat removed before eating. Do not eat shellfish of any kind from the lake.
The public will be advised when the algae bloom ends and the water is safe, officials said.
