CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Faculty senators at Oregon State University have accepted a proposal that mandates furlough days in 2010.

The Gazette-Times newspaper reports that faculty members will have to take a minimum of three unpaid days and a maximum of 12, depending on their salaries and the length of their contracts.

The senators approved the action by an 86 to 17 vote after more than 90 minutes of debate Thursday.
