LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – Three teenage girls were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Lake Oswego Friday night, police said. One of them was still hospitalized Monday evening.
Around 9:45 p.m., a vehicle with three teens inside collided with a vehicle that had a man, his son, and his son's friend inside at Kerr Parkway and Lower McNary Parkway, said Sgt. Tom Hammann with Lake Oswego police.
Responding firefighters had to cut the teen driver out of one vehicle, which was more seriously damaged than the other vehicle, Hammann said.
The three teens, later identified as 17-year-old Katie Brauti, 16-year-old Madison Focht and 16-year-old Madison Owens, were taken by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries, Hammann said.
Investigators said the vehicle they were in was on the wrong side of the road when the crash happened. Kerr Parkway was closed between Boones Ferry Road and Lower McNary Parkway until early Saturday morning.
The son's friend in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. The man and his son were not seriously injured, police said.
The parents of all the teens were notified. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Brauti remains in the hospital, she is listed in critical condition.
