3.4 earthquake hits near Vernonia

A 3.4-magnitude quake struck Sunday night just west of Vernonia

VERNONIA, Ore. -- A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck at 10:28 Sunday night, about 14 miles west of Vernonia.

The quake was about 14 miles deep.

A swarm of a dozen earthquakes hit near Toppenish, Wash., east of Mount Adams, between Thursday and Saturday, the strongest being a 3.4.
