PORTLAND -- A 100-year-old oak tree fell onto a Portland office building, crashing through several windows and causing problems for tree removal crews.
The tree went through the window next to John Whearty's office. "Our law firm takes up half the first floor of the building and this giant oak tree had slammed into the building and broke through the windows of the second floor. It was phenomenal. The tree just uprooted itself. It’s amazing," he said.
The building is located in the 9100 block of Southwest Oleson Road. The tree had fallen before employees arrived for work Thursday morning.
Crews were still working Thursday afternoon to remove the tree. There was no damage estimate available.
