HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Three cars were destroyed in a wildfire Monday in Washington County.

Washington County Fire said Robert Rosenoit was hosting an annual get-together at his property on Tongue Lane, and had a parking area for his guests in a recently harvested wheat field.

Friends directing traffic noticed a small fire underneath a Jetta parked just a few minutes earlier, and most guests were able to move vehicles before the fire spread.

Crews were able to bring the grass fire under control, but a 1986 Scirocco and a 1993 Camry were completely burned, along with the Jetta.

Investigators think the fire was related to the catalytic converter from the Jetta. The value of the cars was estimated at $15,000. Contact Info: Connie Brodehl, District 2 PIO
