KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon Health and Science University is planning to create a satellite campus in Klamath Falls to focus on rural medicine.
The Herald and News reports that the idea was unveiled at a meeting Wednesday in Klamath Falls.
OHSU's provost and vice president, Dr. Jeanette Mladenovic (mlah-DON'-eh-vick), says the campus would become a hub for OHSU's rural medicine activities across the state.
She says said a dean will likely be hired by July so that planning for the campus can get underway.
The Oregon Community Foundation gave OHSU a $50,000 planning grant, and Mladenovic says fundraising will now be key.
