EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The University of Oregon and its new faculty union announced an agreement Wednesday on a two-year contract.
The Register-Guard reports (http://bit.ly/19gZjoK ) the contract will give faculty members two 6 percent annual raises, but untenured faculty members will remain on one-year contracts.
It's the first contract for the 1,800-member United Academics union that was certified a year and a half ago. The union plans an Oct. 8 ratification vote on the contract that will be in place through June 2015.
Bargainers said they worked hard to reach agreement before classes begin in Eugene on Sept. 30.
