EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A 60-year-old Roseburg woman was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Eugene to a year in prison for the theft of $300,000 in federal and state welfare benefits over a 14-year period.
The Register-Guard reports (http://bit.ly/19uw1q9 ) Judith Ann Eubank pleaded guilty to theft of government funds and made a $100,000 down payment on restitution.
Investigators say she lied about family income to collect Social Security, food stamps, medical and other benefits for which she did not qualify. The fraud was discovered last year.
