ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — The Douglas County sheriff's office says a 20-year-old Winston, Ore., man is dead after his vehicle ran off a southern Oregon road and ended up in Ben Irving Reservoir.
A sheriff's spokeswoman says friends and relatives of Romey Quimby grew concerned when he didn't return after dropping off a friend. They had been looking for him for hours before the young man's father found the tire tracks leading into the reservoir early Thursday.
A sheriff's dive team and marine patrol found the vehicle in about 15 feet of water with the young man's body still in the cab. He was alone in the vehicle.
