LINCOLN CITY – Two people were seriously injured Saturday when their car drove off the road and hit a tree near Otis, police said.
Shortly after 3 p.m., 58-year-old Michael Moir of Canby was driving west on Highway 18 when he lost control while approaching a left curve. The car went down an embankment and the passenger side of the car slammed into a tree, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
Moir and his passenger, 57-year-old Pamela Waite from Canby, were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Hastings said.
Both Moir and Waite were wearing seatbelts. Moir was cited for failure to drive in a lane.
